Thanks for stopping by here!
So you’ve received our new packs and probably have some questions, well, I’m here to help!
I’ll address our more frequently asked questions below. You can read them all or look to see if your concern is one of the topics covered : ).
Even though you may have some questions, I hope your little one is still as eager as ever to dive into their bowl and is just waiting for you to finish reading this, so I’ll try to keep it concise to not keep your little one waiting too long.
Our old packs were good, but some pup parents found that sometimes these packs leaked after opening. We were also seeing instances of our old packs cracking or being damaged during transit from the extreme cold temperatures from the dry ice.
We listened to your feedback and decided to make things better for everyone!
Our new packs are stackable so it's a lot easier to find space in your freezer, they're more durable during transit, easy to open and help reduce leakages and spills which in turn helps reduce food waste and prevents fridge messes!
These new packs also use 22-25% less plastic and are fully recyclable, so on top of helping you, we’re also helping reduce our environmental impact!
Changing our packs made the most sense!
Has The Food or Amount Changed?
While the packs definitely look different, you can rest assured that the food within these packs is the same delicious, nutritious food from before. There has been no change to our recipes and your little one should gobble it up as eagerly as ever!
Our new packs have changed in shape so you may be thinking that the amount of food has changed as well, but it hasn’t.
Our new packs are more square in shape instead of rectangular so you may think that you are receiving less food but in fact it has stayed the same. You’ll notice that our new packs are thicker than our old packs and that’s just to make them more compact and stackable.
One big change that you may notice if your pup normally receives larger packs is that they have now been split into what we call “saddle packs” (two pouches joined together by a little piece of plastic). This is just so that your pup’s meals stay fresher longer in between feedings, as you can open up one pouch at a time.
The number of packs in your order will not be changing either! It is simply the style that has changed. For example, if your dog receives a 24oz pack, the saddle pack will have 12oz in each pouch (for a total of 24oz/pack). Alternatively, if your dog typically receives 12oz vacuum-sealed packs, they will now receive 12oz peel-able packs.
The new single packs do also have the same quantity as our previous packaging. Since we haven’t changed the amount of food that your dog gets, simply portion your dog’s food the same as you normally would!
Easy peasy lemon squeezy! Each pack has a little tab at the corner that you can pull and peel open. No need for scissors anymore!
How Do I Portion Out The Meals?
No need to squeeze out and eyeball how much half a pack is anymore! With these new peel open packs you can more easily scoop out the appropriate amount for each meal with a spoon (or your preferred utensil, no judgment here)!
You will still receive a feeding guide letting you know how much your little one should be eating in a day, based on the portion plan they are on.
As the single packs haven’t changed, you can continue to portion out like you always have, just with a little more control than before.
The saddle packs are considered one whole pack, so half a pack per day actually means one pouch. The diagrams on your feeding guide should help you better understand how much to feed.
These packs are stackable! That means they should take up less room in your freezer and not take away from precious ice cream real estate space!
Once you are ready to thaw a pack or pouch, simply place it in the refrigerator, same as before.
Once the pack has been opened, because the peel top doesn’t seal again, you can simply place the pack in a household container or sealable bag to maintain freshness longer.
How Do I Dispose The Packaging?
We are always trying to be as sustainable and reduce waste as much as possible, while still maintaining freshness and quality in our food. That’s why we’re happy to announce that our packs are fully recyclable! Once each pack is empty, you can let your dogs lick it clean and wash it out in the sink. Then simply place it in the recycling so it can be reused and made into something else!
